Signs you may need pest control: Spider Infestation

paige4659

We get spiders are good for biodiversity, and they help keep other spiders and insects out of your home, but they're ultimately freeloaders that have a really creepy tendency to disappear when you blink. It also seems like a lose-lose situation that you must have spiders to prevent other spiders? That's what we're here for! Check out the signs that you may had a spider infestation and need to give us a call below.

Webs:

Spiders weave webs to catch their food. They like the upper corners of your rooms, light fixtures, and any area that isn't often disturbed, so they can sling their web and not need to worry about their housemates destroying them. One web does not make an infestation, and it is very normal to see a few webs pop up here and there. However, if you see a multitude of webs - you probably have an infestation brewing.

Egg Sacs:

When spiders lay eggs, they wrap them up in a silken sac. They typically look like small white balls of web. They're usually attached to webs or hidden in the nooks and crannies of your home that aren't often disturbed. Think the space between the wall and your furniture or crawl spaces. The worst part? Just one of these contains 100s of spiders. Missing one can mean those spiders growing to create their own webs and lay their own eggs - continuing the cycle of infestation.

Spider Molts: As spiders grow they outgrow their skin - so they shed it. Exactly the same as snakes except creepier somehow. Young spiders can molt once a month. If you see what appears to be dead spiders around your home, they may be molts. Finding multiple of these around your home is a good indication that you have an infestation underway.

Spiders:

This one is obvious; we know. But if you are seeing multiple spiders on a daily basis, or feel like you're perpetually carrying around insect repellent - you probably have an infestation.

If you have any of these signs, be sure to contact your pest control. If you're looking for a good one - you can give us a call on 0418 157 926.
