COCKROACHES

Cockroaches are insects of the order Blattodea, which also includes termites. About 30 cockroach species out of 4,600 are associated with human habitats. About four species are well known as pests. The cockroaches are an ancient group, dating back at least as far as the Carboniferous period, both common and hardy insects, and can tolerate a wide range of environments from Arctic cold to tropical heat.

ANTS

Ants are social insects; they form colonies. Ant colonies usually contain: an egg-laying queen and many workers together with their brood i.e., eggs, larvae and pupae. Worker ants carry out different jobs including nest construction, foraging, looking after the brood and queen, and nest defense. Some species have powerful stings. Others eject vapors of formic acid.

SPIDERS

Australia has a number of highly venomous spiders, including the Sydney Funnel-web. Its relatives are in the family Hexathelidae, and the Redback Spider, whose bites can be extremely painful and have historically been linked with deaths in medical records. The CSIRO Published in 2017 featured around 836 species of Australian Spiders 381 genera and 78 families.

FLEAS

Flea, the common name for the order Siphonaptera, includes 2,500 species of small flightless insects that survive as external parasites of mammals and birds. Fleas live by consuming blood or hematophagy, from their hosts. Adult fleas grow to about 3 mm or .12 in long, are usually brown, and have bodies that are "flattened" sideways, or narrow, enabling them to move through their host's fur or feathers. Fleas' larvae are worm-like with no limbs; they have chewing mouthparts and feed on organic debris left on their host's skin.

RATS & MICE

Rats are various medium-sized, long-tailed rodents. Species of rats are found throughout the order Rodentia, but stereotypical rats are found in the genus Rattus. Rats are typically distinguished from mice by their size.  Rats have long been considered deadly pests.

SILVERFISH

A silverfish (Lepisma saccharina) is a small, wingless insect in the order Zygentoma (formerly Thysanura). Its common name derives from the animal's silvery light grey colour, combined with the fish-like appearance of its movements. However, the scientific name (L. saccharina), indicates the silverfish's diet consists of carbohydrates such as sugar or starches.

CLOTHES MOTHS

Tineola bisselliella is a small moth of 6-7 mm body length and 9-16 mm wingspan (most commonly 12-14 mm). They eat cotton, linen, silk and wool fabrics as well as furs. They will also eat synthetic fibres if they are blended with wool. They have been found on shed feathers and hair, bran, semolina and flour, biscuits, and casein.
